There must be magic in the air up in New Richmond. Where are these buildings, staff, and other resources coming from, thin air? For anything to be free it needs to be produced absent of human action. What did the board do, wave a magic wand and poof all these child centers appeared? The word âfreeâ is the most disingenuous word ever used. For the board and the paper to use such terminology earmarks both parties as out right liars.
Oh I forgot these are the same people who are telling the people of New Richmond that you can borrow 40 some million dollars for nothing, including the principal. They have concluded that the impact on the taxpayers of a $90,000,000 plus referendum is the same as $50,000,000. It is free!
Maybe Ziller would care to explain how this free stuff works.
Over here in Green Bay we had a stunning defeat of a $70 Million school referendum this past Tuesday to build a new 5th high
school. It’s the first time in school history that the voters have said “NO”. The defeat was 2 to 1, voters were up against a well organized campaign (funded with our tax dollars) to “inform” us why we needed to spend the money. No visible organization against the spending, but voters came out loud and strong and said NO. The elephant in the room that no one talked about is illegals overcrowding our schools. The school board wanted to spend $70M to build a new high school because there was crowding of 100+ students at 2 other east side schools. Last spring when there were rumors of an ICE raid here in Green Bay, the overcrowding was taken care of immediately. The illegals kept their kids out of school for several days and they didn’t even have to provide absent notices. School Supert. just said “never mind”.
Don’t look for Ziller to explain how this “free” stuff works because he might then have to explain how he wants to keep all of the other taxpayers in the state that provide all of this “free” stuff from speaking at “his” school board meetings. Ziller is part of the “big tent” crowd that the Republican Party is trying to attract. The problem with that theory is that the tent gets so big it has no foundation and will fold-up under any pressure. The party gets so watered down with RINO’s like Ziller that it ends up standing for nothing.
Do your research better, the 4 yr old program will be housed in the local daycare facilities in town. That way when the “free” program is done, the 4yr olds go back to the “paid” room for the rest of the Daycare day (or home, for the forutnate ones).
I think most here do not adhere to government expansion. Anything the the government funds, it controls indirectly by regulation. If WEAC gets it’s claws into 4 year old kindergarten, those babysitters will have to have a 4 year degree, and will be making a lot more more money than any teenager of the past used to. With that will come unionization, government pensions and health care, far much better that the average citizen. Consider it just another expansion of WEAC by 8+ percent.
What research Jack Junior? The local daycare facilities are being “paid” by someone for the “free” portion of the day aren’t they? I’m sure they’re not “donating” the time and place for this early childhood daycare/babysitting. And once the new facilites in New Richmond are built you’ll have full blown 4-year old daycare just like Somerset.
