Admittedly, I am a cynic towards government data. Government is about power and money. Bureaucrats and politicians retain their ability to keep both by making us believe they can solve any problem. When you are the controlling the data, you make anything appear possible.

On Friday, the government released its statistics on employment for the month of January. According to the report, the economy created 243,000 jobs and the unemployment rate dropped another couple of notches to 8.3%. The President took a victory lap claiming that his policies have put Americans back to work. Stock market gamblers cheered the news by throwing more money into stocks resulting in hefty gains across all major indices.

Instead of celebrating, some analysts dug deeper into the data behind the joyous headlines. What they discovered as best described by CNBC commentator and free market advocate Rick Santelli was “shrinkage”. The labor participation rate has steadily decreased over the last few months to a January reading of 63%. The unemployment rate is calculated by dividing the number of people actively looking for work by the sum of the people working and those actively looking for employment. The unemployment rate can be magically lowered by narrowing the definition of actively looking for work. Individuals giving up in the search for a job or returning to school are no longer considered looking for a job. And neither is an individual working part-time due to perhaps a lack of full-time jobs. It does not appear to be logical for the labor participation rate dropping to a historic low point while the employment picture shows improvement.

Shrinkage
1.2 Million Gone

Tthe folks at www.zerohedge.com do a good job of investigating the numbers behind the government statistics. The following summarizes a few treasures buried in the employment data.

•	The labor participation rate implies that 1,200,000 dropped out of the job market in the month of January
•	Tax withholding data prior to Friday’s release indicated an addition of only 40,000 jobs instead of the 243,000
•	The discrepancy could be the result of low paying and part time jobs accounting for a good portion of the 243,000 added to the payrolls
•	The numbers reported by the Bureau of is not raw data. The numbers are massaged for seasonal adjustments and the birth-death ratio. In other words, the employment figures are mathematically cleansed

Employment Report Buried Treasures

I still scratch my head over why people throw money into stocks over employment reports and why they would take at face value anything the government says, especially in an election year. Some will rationalize the correlation between more jobs and the stock market in two ways. First, an improving jobs pictures means the economy is doing better, and therefore, companies are bound to report better earnings. Secondly, an increase in people working results in more disposable, which a portion can be used to invest in stocks.

Such commonly held beliefs fall victim to an error in causality. Stock prices move up or down for only one reason, net money moving in or out. It is a simple exercise in supply and demand. If the demand for a stock during any given time is greater than the shares for sale, then the price must rise or vice-versa when the supply of stock for sale is greater than the demand. Company earnings or any other news does not cause price changes.

Secondly, it is true a job will increase income for a previously unemployed person. But it is quite a leap to say a portion of the new wages will end up in stocks. Money used for the purchase of any investment comes from savings. It cannot be said with any degree of certainty that an individual will save, especially if as the data suggests a portion of the increased employment came from either low paying or part-time jobs. Additionally, many are still highly indebted. Before savings can take place the debt has to be retired.

The pundits will sing Happy Days Are Here Again. They ignore the fact that the government is the one handing out the song sheets.

I am no fan of tattoos especially on a woman. But it is nor for me to say whether a person wants to look like a moron or not. In Atlanta police arrested a mother for allowing her 10 year-old daughter to get a tattoo in remembrance of the girl’s brother that recently died.

Where does the state find the power to determine what a person should put on their bodies? Some may say a ten year-old has no business getting a tattoo and parents should know better. Why, is a tattoo dangerous to the health of a child? Does the danger go away when one reaches a certain age? Of course this is absurd. Perhaps allowing a minor child to get a tattoo shows a lack of parental judgment. I personally believe anyone sporting a tattoo shows a lack of judgment, but they do not deserve to be arrested since it does affect my property or life in any manner.

Tattoo Thugs

If a parent can be arrested for a tattoo on their child, then how far away is it from cuffing a mother over the clothes their children wear? Mommy can be cuffed because the color of the clothes did not match. Is this the role of government and why do we continue to stand for such jack booted antics?

How’s your $93 Million boondoggle going? I remember you being the loudest vocal advocate for the largest property tax raising construction project in the history of the State of Wisconsin. What are your plans for St. Croix County?

Are you going to do what you did to your own property? You defaulted on your home and soon thereafter, your mortgage company foreclosed on you. I also seem to know that the Sheriff sold your property.

Looks as if that put a strain on your marriage as well. Tammie ended up divorcing you. You and Tammie left a wake of other miscellaneous debt. Who did you think was going to pay it? I see BOA even filed another claim St. Croix County for other unpaid bills. Was that your debt Andrew? What kind of leadership and financial management will you offer to St. Croix County?

Do you still have those Packer season tickets? 4 tickets. You almost had me going back in the year 2008. You offered up 4 tickets and a 2 day hotel package just to have me outed. My buddies were thinking about it. Naw.

Been out of state for a while but came to visit my buddies OTBL. They tell me you threw your name in the hat for County board. In the famous words of Chris Mathews, “What in God’s name were you thinking?” I forgot, you have a bunch of miscreants up your way. Hold on to your hat, Andrew.

I still owe you one… And I promise to always deliver Andrew Brinkman. You can’t even manage or supervise your own family and finances, what makes you think you can do it for the County? Who would wan’t you to?

A few months ago the North Hudson Village Board led by George Klein voted to increase the taxes on the people of North Hudson so God forbid one or two non-worker, workers would not be laid off. Rumors were flying that one of the non-workers to be shown the door would be a jack-booted thug.

Klein and all but the two members of the Board that voted NO to raising taxes couldn’t imagine the community with its low level crime except for the driver occasionally performing a rolling stop when no other traffic is in sight or a driver speeding along two miles over the limit having one less goon to harass the citizens. It looks like taxes are going to increase a little more because of a less than the intelligence of a shit sweeper in the circus goon decided to play tough guy with an innocent person.

It seems attorney William Radosevich was stopped on his way home from a funeral by North Hudson thug Robert Moody on reports from another driver that Radosevich was driving erratically. Moody pulled the attorney over and gave him a blow in the tube test, which showed no alcohol (I would of told the goon to blow on this tube). Not satisfied with a reading of zero, badge clad thug Moody went through some additional sobriety test. I guess according to the story Radosevich did not move his eyes right. That was enough to cuff him and put him the back of a very hot squad car until someone with a little more brains than a shit sweeper in the circus told the less the brains of a shit sweeper in the circus thug to let him go.

North Hudson Goon
Radosevich is now filing a claim against the Village of North Hudson to the tune of $50,000 for an illegal arrest and false imprisonment. I would personally sue the goon for $100,000 and the chance to taser his balls until they fell off. .

This story has a truthful twist. This past summer a person I know was pulled over by a different North Hudson goon under similar circumstances. This person also had been to a family funeral and in the same afternoon learned of the death of a close friend. The suspect with red eyes from crying was pulled over by a goon. Noticing the red eyes the less than the brains of a shit sweeper in the circus decided to do a sobriety test on his prey. The test came back sober. So just like Moody, the thug did some more tests and lo and behold the guy blinked when the good shined a light in his eyes. For some reason this thug backed off on making an illegal arrest or false imprisonment.

Apparently the motto of the North Hudson Goon Department is to never miss an opportunity to harass and arrest innocent people, especially people coming back from a funeral.

Radosevich stated the North Hudson police (jack-boot thugs) are under trained, under supervised, and overzealous. I think thugs, goons, and less than the brains of a shit sweeper in the circus is a more accurate description.

The Village Board needs to fire the cops and lower the taxes. Way to go George Klein.

The answer to bad government is always more government. A proposal by US Senator Charles Schumer from New York perfectly illustrates this sad but true axiom. After stories surfaced about strip searches of old ladies at airports in this country, the Senator has proposed setting up a passenger advocate at air terminals where passengers can lodge complaints against the TSA on the spot.

More government

Of course like most government solutions, this idea completely misses the mark on several fronts. First and foremost, searches conducted by the TSA violate the Fourth and Fifth Amendments to the Constitution. You cannot solve the inherent problems of an unconstitutional government arm with another unconstitutional government arm. It is akin to one thief overseeing the actions of another thief. The question always with government advocates is what side they will be advocating for. One thing I can say for certain is that their concerns will not involve the US Constitution.

Fourth Amendment
Secondly, TSA personnel are not professionals in any meaning of the word. Most have little more law enforcement experience than a night security guard at the lumber yard. I would suspect that for many receiving a government check for non-work is quite common. The bottom line is that the people working for the TSA are not the brightest bulbs on the tree.

The real answer to airport security is to follow the path of private property and the free markets. The airlines should handle their own security issues. If passengers feel a particular carrier is not adequately promoting the safety of customers, than the flying public travel with another airline that will. The consequence of bad experiences will be customers taking their business to a competitor. The free market is the only advocate a customer needs; an idea that government does not advocate for.

Last night the Towncrier brought up an interesting point about potential changes to TSA procedures at the airport. In addition to members of the armed forces receiving preferential security treatment, I also heard on Freedom Watch hosted by Judge Napolitano that the police and fire unions are lobbying for the same type of screening. Why is it we believe people in government issued uniforms, which in the case of the police and fire personnel comes with a badge, are beyond malicious intent.

Examples of individual policeman committing heinous crimes that include murder stretch back in the history of law enforcement to the time cops first started walking the beat. Some have been trained in using special types of weaponry and even plastic explosives. I would also suspect that elite police personnel have also been educated onhow explosives and arms can be transported past security checkpoints.

The same argument can be made about military personnel. Individuals particularly in the Special Forces certainly know how to hide and proficiently use different types of explosives. The military or for that matter any government enforcement agency is not foolproof from an individual or a small group with destructive intentions blending in among their ranks.

On November 9, 2009, Army Major Nidal Milek Hasan opened fire at the Fort Hood base outside of Killen, Texas. When the shooting ended, thirteen people lay mortally wounded and another twenty-nine fell wounded. Hasan is an American born Muslim of Palestinian descent. Internal Army reports showed for four years concern over Major Hasan’s radical Islam tendencies. Imagine what the Major might have done if airport security gave him a pass. If the Army could not stop a person like Hasan from creating mayhem, then what makes anyone think that the mental midgets of the TSA can?

This brings up a second point. In the age of computers and digital replication, what is the chance of a dumb-eye TSA person spotting a phony military ID.? Considering how often airport security misses weapon breaches during internal test runs, I would estimate the odds to be next to none. I personally know a person that mistakenly had a knife in his carry-on bag. Despite going through all the security show, the knife made it through.

Finally, the laws of the land are supposed to apply to everyone equally. No one gets a pass or differential treatment because of their lot in life, including members of Congress and the President. Members of the military, police, fire departments, and public officials all take an oath to defend the Constitution. Instead of protecting individual rights, people in uniform and politicians have demonstrated an allegiance toward government power. I see everyday more reasons to trust people in uniform less and less.

I have seen a lot of moronic actions out of the blue-shirted idiot goons of the TSA that include patting down a man in a wheel chair with such severe palsy that he probably couldn’t shake his dick in the bathroom without getting all four walls wet. Then my favorite from a month ago was taking a bottle from a screaming infant so the morons could test it for explosive material.

The story out today about a teenage girl with a purse that had a gun design on it may beat any example of lower intelligence I have ever heard about. According to the article, a seventeen year-old girl was stopped by the The Stupid Assholes from entering the terminal and catching her plane because the gun design on her purse simulated a weapon. The goons told her she could get on the plane if she checked her purse as luggage. I am for once in my life totally at a loss for words.

A Loaded Purse

I expect some day to see or read about some poor woman being surrounded by the entire army because she is carrying tampons in her purse that a blue-shirted moron thinks are mini-sticks of dynamite. Meanwhile some guy with a towel wrapped around his noggin and tightened with a fan belt goes through security with a real stick of dynamite because the idiot that called code red on a woman with a monthly function thinks the little tube with a string the guy has in his carry on bag is some type of religious symbol to be inserted in one’s anus.

I feel so safe.

Apparently the TSA has agreed to let people in the military go through an expedited form of security. The military complained about the amount of gear that their people have to remove and put back on when going through the same line as me where I am forced to take my shoes, belt, and any coats or sweaters off, which in this part of the country could mean four or five layers. Besides feeling like I am undressing for a proctology exam, I also remove the coins, keys, cell phone and wallet from my pants plus most of the time I have a computer in a backpack that has to be taken out and placed in a tray all by itself. Anytime I have ever seen a person in the military they usually just have a backpack. Aren’t these guys supposed to be able to get dressed in seconds flat and be ready to fight in a moments notice?

I feel so safe?

The other week I did this after getting through security. My plane did not depart for over an hour so instead of rushing to get my sports jacket on and the over coat and the belt and the shoes back on my person and putting the coins and the keys and the wallet and the cell phone back into my pockets and zipping the computer that was in a tray all by itself into the backpack that was in a separate tray, I took my sweet ass time. Try it the next time you fly.

I felt so good.

As most know, except those schooled in Every Day Math or government accounting or working as a journalist, a ratio can be decreased by either shrinking the numerator or increasing the value of the denominator. For instance, if a family’s annual food bill eats 20% of the yearly income, then two ways exist to lower the percentage food expenditures take from the paychecks. One option is to reduce the dollars spent on groceries by eating less, shopping at discount grocery stores, growing your own food, or kicking someone out of the house. One or some combination of reduction results in only $15 out of every $100 of income spent on food or a ratio of 15%.

The second option is to find a higher paying job, a second job, or have more family members get a job. For simplistic purposes, let us say that the extra income route increases annual deposits into the checking account from $100 to $200. We still spend our initial $20 on groceries but the ratio of food expenses to income drops to 10%. It seems pretty simple to figure out.

Today the Bureau of Labor Statistics released the monthly national employment report. According to the report, the economy added a net of 120,000 jobs last month. The increase in employment magically dropped the unemployment rate to 8.6% from 9%. The unemployment rate is a ratio calculated by taking the number of people out of work looking for a job divided by the number of individuals estimated to be in the labor pool (employed and unemployed). A person is considered to be unemployed if they are out of work but actively looking for a job. The unemployment rate is also sprinkled with some pixie dust in the form of what is called the birth-death ratio.

So how does a relatively small number of net new jobs compared to the size of the labor pool drop the unemployment rate by .4%? Simple, you can either fudge a decline in the numerator or in the denominator. It is a little difficult to show a great increase in the labor pool (denominator) from month to month. But with a straight face the Bureau of Labor Statistics removed 350,000 unemployed people from the numerator because they have simply given up hope of finding work and they are no longer classified as looking for employment. And hocus pocus, the unemployment rate shows a dramatic decline. On a side note, a good size source of the 120,000 net new jobs came from retailers adding help for the Christmas season.

Here is a thought to leave with, if an addition of 120,000 jobs really lowered the unemployment rate by .4%, then how many new jobs would it take to completely eliminate unemployment in this country? A good estimation would be 2,640,000. Do you really think that makes sense?

Fuzzy Math

** Individuals in the armed forces and government non-worker, workers are considered to be part of the employed portion of the labor pool even though they destroy instead of produce.

People losing their homes, the unemployed, bank closures, rising healthcare costs, and the BP oil spill are all recent examples according to the ignorant masses and statist (one in the same) of free market failings. Correcting market failure can only be accomplished by a labyrinth of government bureaucracies dictating regulations that cover the minutest details in everyday life.

As noted many times before, the argument for government intervention in the free market is of course based on a fallacy. You cannot logically blame something that does not exist in the first place. Free markets do not include a central bank manipulating the cost of money. Free markets do not include bureaucrats telling a producer the minimum amount to pay their employees or what benefits they must offer. The free market does not have government reaching into the pockets of people and extracting a chunk of their wealth. The free market does not have government subsidizing housing, medicine, education, agriculture, energy, and hundreds of other industries. Backstops against failure are not part of the free market playbook. For at least the past hundred years, the government at all levels has increasingly molded private transactions into a form that looks nothing like a society based on voluntary exchange.

The governments of Europe and their central banking partners are rapidly crumbling. The extent of the damage is so great that trillions of dollars are needed to just keep the boat floating for a few more months. Across the United States the roll of municipalities declaring bankruptcy grows daily. The accumulated debt of numerous states like Illinois and California makes Greece look frugal. The total liability of the federal government that includes Medicare and Social Security dwarfs the world’s wealth. Individuals around the globe are in danger of being swept out into a sea of financial ruin by the massive government debt wave circling the earth.

What is to blame for all of this? Not the free market, it does not exist. When the Federal Reserve set out on a course of bailing out Europe yesterday in a clandestine operation, Ron Paul summed it up best. According to Paul, the action by the Federal Reserve essentially bailed out socialism.

The other week I wrote about the concept of “could happen” laws. My post referred to the opponents of conceal and carry gun laws because allowing a citizen to pack heat could result in someone getting shot. A number of laws today, including the ones covering drugs and prostitution, are based on the possibility that somebody could be harmed.

William Anderson posted a story about a man charged on the basis of “could happen”. One of the weapons citizens have against laws that inhibit liberty is to nullify or ignore government edicts. In the case of a trial for instance of a person charged with drug possession, a jury contrary to all evidence can vote the defendant not guilty on the basis that the law is wrong. I believe it was Jefferson that once declared people have a duty to ignore bad laws. The civil rights movement was an example of people turning their backs on “Jim Crow” laws.

Summarizing the story relayed by Anderson, a man in New York City stood outside a courthouse passing out leaflets arguing for jury nullification. Federal prosecutors had the man arrested and charged him with jury tampering even though he was not on trial or had any personal benefit in a specific court case, which is usually necessary to prove to find an individual guilty of trying to influence a juror or the jury.

It Could Happen

What is the man guilty of in the eyes of federal prosecutors? The people receiving the leaflet could happen to sit on a jury one day. The next thing you know there will be a law against team sports because the coach could happen to become a child rapist.

The whole world is a giant lie. Almost everything you read or hear has been fabricated. The world and this country will slide into a dark hole for ages until humanity is cleansed of fraud.

In the past few days we learned that while the major banks tried to comfort people in 2008 and 2009 about their solvency, they were secretly receiving $7.77 trillion from their partner in crime, Ben Bernanke and the Federal Reserve. The banks begged Congress for temporary relief in the name of a $700 billion bailout known as TARP, which is chump change compared what they received from the central bank. The Federal Reserve states that the “solvent” banks” exchanged collateral for the newly printed money. What type of collateral? We are told the banks paid back the money, says who; the same Federal Reserve that lied and covered up the counterfeiting of $7.7trillion. Just to make us feel better, the central bank said today that the major banks in this country are good shape because now they are only leveraged 7 to 1.

The subject of economics in college classroom is based on a lie call Keynesianism. Contrary to all logic, history, and recent experiences, many academic economists still push the mathematical mystical idea of a multiplier on their students and the public. Worse yet,, economists of the Nobel Prize variety along with their academic counterparts believe that the way to solve a debt crisis is by taking on more debt or printing more counterfeit money.

Investing money in stocks is based on lies. Again mathematical voodoo leads you to believe in value where none exists. You don’t invest in a company when you buy stock; the only person receiving the money is some other Joe. When George Bush implored people after 9-11 to support America by buying stocks, an individual could have purchased the certificate from a person in a country that supported the people who flew the planes that fateful day.

Science has become a hoax. Scientist without hard evidence now pushes agendas through predictions ginned up mathematical models. Global Warming now runs neck and neck with Keynesian Economics as the biggest scam to ever be perpetrated upon mankind. As it has been said before, there are lies, damn lies, and statistics.

“We care about the kids” is a damn lie. Government schools talk teary-eyed about the children. But as we witnessed this past year in Wisconsin, the only thing government school teachers care about is their wallet and precious taxpayer funded pensions. They don’t care how much people are suffering in the economy; it is all about them getting more.

The police do not prevent crime. Ninety-nine percent of the time they show up after the gun has been fired or the money has been stolen from the safe. Police do not protect you the citizen. Their priority is to safeguard the government bureaucrats and politicians that steal from you and give a portion of the loot to them. Again, the police in Wisconsin this past year displayed whose side they really are on.

The War on Terror has been mostly a lie. No WMDs existed in Iraq where we have waged war for almost a decade. People in other countries do not hate us because of freedom; they hate us because our government bureaucrats stick their noses in the business of other countries. We have no moral authority to tell another country how their people should live or the structure of their government. We occupy territory in over 100 countries throughout the world. How would we feel if China established a military base in Des Moines? History has shown that we are weaker country because of the military involvement.

We are not a free country. Name one thing the government does not regulate or tax or manipulate. Whether you travel by air, bus, train, or car, the government is watching and frisking you in the process. Is going through an airport similar to the United States fifty years ago or NAZI Germany in the 1930s?

The road to collapse is paved with lies and fraud. The very same pillars that the world now rests upon

Nearly two months ago, a gathering of friends highlighted a problem facing the mainstream media labeled frontrunners for the Republican Presidential nomination. At that time, the two leading candidates were Mitt Romney and Rick Perry. Among our group not one single person picked either one as their candidate of choice.

Last night at an impromptu meeting of a half-dozen friends the same question was again put to the table. The people involved in the question, like the time before, are quite intelligent and knowledgeable about an array of subjects. The answers last night were again all over the board. Gingrich pulled one vote; Cain got one other; two voted for Paul; one said anybody but Obama, and the most politically astute member of the group voted they were deeply conflicted. Notice how Romney again received not a single nod.

Furthermore, several voiced the opinion that if Gingrich or Romney ended up winning the nomination, then two would sit out the election and another stated they would mark the ballot for Obama in an act of pouring gasoline on to the fire.

The problem for the Republicans, and thus the country appears to be this: A significant portion of the country truly wants liberty restored and an end to American imperialism abroad. They see government at all levels as corrupt. Additionally, they recognize the crony capitalism of government and the Federal Reserve as the source of all economic evil, which is true. Many may agree with such an outline, but swayed somewhat by the media and the Republican power brokers, they have determined a candidate espousing these views cannot win a general election.

A candidate like Gingrich or Romney that speaks in tempered terms about freedom while still promoting the ideas of American global power and government solution to economic woes is according to the experts palatable to the masses. But the two recently anointed front-runners leave a bad taste to those with a deep conviction toward minimal government, not just less. With a chunk of the electorate bolting someone other than Gingrich or Romney, then the pair becomes no different than the stigma attached to Ron Paul; they are unelectable.

The fact remains this country is about evenly divided between the :makers and the takers”. At this point, the election for President appears to be headed for a very ugly conclusion, which is the re-election of Obama.

The way I see it a person dumb enough to do this deserves to be removed from the gene pool. If they are lucky enough to live through an explosion, then I am sure such stupidity is qualifications for a management position in the TSA.

I think this is all a plot to give TSA agents that are birdophiles an excuse to come to my house under the guise of turkey terrorism so the blue clad goon can ram their hands up the cooked ass of the bird sitting at the center my table.

I don’t even want to imagine what they will do if hot dogs are put on a list of suspected terrorists
