Another flaw in the armor that never was, is the fact that global warming cannot cause more violent weather such as an increase in the frequency or severity of thunderstorms, tornadoes, etc. Hurricanes operate somewhat differently, but this too would be less in a warming world.
In order for such violent weather events to occur you need cold air rapidly moving into warm, moister air (you can see it on any weather map, where a cold front moves into a warm moist air mass). If global warming is proceeding as its ardent purveyors suggest, the end result has to be that the coldest air becomes less cold.
With less contrasts between cold and warm you have to get less precipitation and storminess, not more.
Cold is the absence of heat. Heat is what is added to the equation, not the other way around… And the fundamental source of heat in the universe is/are the thermo-nuclear reactions occurring on stars such as our own sun, reactions which kick out electromagnetic radiation and solar particles.
If we have more cloudiness, relatively less radiation is absorbed because it is being reflected back into outer space, ergo a cooling earth. All of this is now well documented by Henrik Svensmark who has shown that when sun spot activity is very low more solar particles reach the earth. Higher amounts of such particles cause clouds to form which tend to cool the planet at magnitudes far far more powerful than any possible warming due to man-made gas emissions (a minuscule addition to the atmosphere). Moreover, this cooling effect can happen rapidly from such particle based cloud formation.
So, to argue that these recent weather events (principally precipitation) are due to warming is completely ignorant of the mechanisms (a clash of warm and cold) which cause and results in precipitation.
The smart money is on umbrella makers!
That and hip-boot, sump pump, and jon boat manufacturers.
