If you look real close on the back of the flak jacket, I think I see Officer Hartman printed there. I also think I see the initials GH on the weapon.
Since this isn’t school board sponsored I don’t think we’ll see the police. I have respect for the LWV, I think they’ll do a good job and hopefully questions from all aspects will be asked. They usually run a good forum and have nothing to do with pre-game celebrations.
On the other hand I find the city candidate forum a total farce. Sponsored by an organization who receives major funding from the city, questions by their committee, and a $15 lunch fee. How much funding has the Chamber gotten since the present mayor of the city has been in office? How many downtown studies?
blacklab you are so wrong. History proves that there have been several PAC police at these previous events with weapons and flak jackets. Good try though. I don’t know if they will be there tonight or not, but they were previously last year. Please write tomorrow and let me know as I will not be able to attend.
I’m working out of town and will miss this one. This one is sponsored by League of Women Voters, right? I haven’t been to debate they sponsored where police were present. If you say they were there last year I’ll believe you, I honestly don’t recall but then again I was quite taken by the dramatics shown by some of the spenders. I’ve always felt they(LWM) do put an even spin on things, but you never really do know. I guess I just feel that them sponsoring is better then ones sponsored by funding recipients. I’m awaiting the report also.
Here’s the report:
The LWV got in bed with the Parents group and made a political mess of the event by writing the questions ahead of time and giving them out to selected candidates of their own choosing. I believe that they think that by helping two-names, they will be getting 4 new board members instead of 3.
My word of advice is: 4 last names doesn’t always mean 4 people. Sorry Tracy, you lose! LWV lost also because they proved that they can not be trusted.
That makes me sad, in the past they did a pretty nice job being non-partisan and just running a good and orderly forum or debate. And some wonder why people are getting fed up with politics and campaigns.
Another question that should be asked of the chief, who is the other person in battle fatigues by the door, is why do the officers need a PAC to spend more when they have such extra ordinary equipment such as shown above already? This ain’t no Ruby Ridge!
Taxmemore – Is this an opinion or a fact? I’ve also held the LWV in high regards as to fairness.
