Hudsonite Finishes 3rd in Age Group
ByIt’s hard to write a story about yourself and stay humble, but I’ll try. Those on the left think that I must focus on them 24 hours a day, but nothing could be farther from the truth. I’ve been spending my time running almost every day. This is a great way to relieve stress and stay in shape.
Yesterday I competed in the William A Irvin 5K in Duluth. This race is held on the evening before the Grandmas marathon and half marathon. It’s a 6:00 p.m. race which isn’t my best time because I’m a morning runner, but that’s o.k. The temperature was 77 at race time.
The good news is that I finished 3rd in my age group with a time of 20:12 and won an award. The bad news is that I figured that I had no chance of winning so I left with friends to have dinner! All is not lost as I see on their website that the awards will be mailed out. Results

Congrats Curt! I see you running aound town on occasion. I used to run but my knees got the best of me a few years back. It’s a great way to keep fit. I’m just heading out to do my favorite sport, fishing!
Thanks Dr. Admin. It wasn’t my best race, but I’ll take it.
The multi-talented Dr. Weese strikes again… Well done. How many runners were there in the events? Who won? We need all the sordid details.

I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Grandma’s. It’s a great weekend.
Thanks Dr. Danielson. FYI- the 5K had 1119 finishers, the 1/2 had 4827 finishers and the full had 6885 finishers. The winning time in the 5K was 15:28 by Patrick Russell. The winning time in the 1/2 was 1:06:38 by Hudson’s Ryan Meissen. The winning time in the full was 2:13:18 by Wesly Ngetich. Sidenote: Ken Zak of Hudson ran his 82nd marathon and is officially retiring after 33 years of marathoning. I had a great time with Ken and some of his friends on Friday night after the 5K race. I told him that he’ll have to make a comeback like Michael Jordan.
Wow.. Zak’s amazing! Kudo’s to Ryan Meissen as well.
Congrats Mr. Weese!
