I Smell a Rat.
ByLast week in the HSO, there was an anti-Tabor article titled “Don’t need TABOR’s ‘Band-Aid’ approach to taxes” by a Bill Campbell. This gentlemen must listen to lots and lots of classical music because when I started reading it, I could hear the violin music playing. Bill said we have good civic services like fire and police protection, responsive and relatively fair legal systems, and honest government. Relatively? “We pay taxes to support all of that wonderfulness – a price I’m happy to pay.”, he went on to say.
When reading this, the violins suddenly stopped and a bell went off in my head. Sounds like a re-occurring pattern here. Again with these types of editorials, one must consider the source. So I did a little research and low and behold, Mr. Campbell makes his livelihood as the Director of Grants & Research, UWRF. Where do the grants come from and how are they funded? Tax dollars…! His job depends directly on tax dollars. Of course he wants them as high as they can be because his living on the dole. There is always a motive, always..
