Here is a quote from this article that is typical of the thinking that permeates the government union thugs- ”
Taxpayers ultimately will pay the price when these forecasts prove wrong.” Sorry, but the taxpayers are out of money. It is time that the government employees start to realize that the days of a guaranteed pension for life are over.
I especially liked this line…
I wonder which worker they were talking about?
As I and others have written about numerous times. government pensions are the nuclear financial bomb that will destroy us economically, including those who benefit from this Ponzi scheme.
Repeating previous pension calculations, each government employee and retiree represent over a million dollars of liability. If you multiply every current and past government employee by this amount, then the product of this equation will swamp the wealth of the world.
Ironically, the local papers glorify the retirement of government workers, as exemplified by the story on the two county sherriffs who retired at age 51 and 53, yet fail to realize the anchor on the economy that their retirements represent.
It is time to recognize that the right of retirement does not exist. It has to be earned, which is a concept completely foreign to a government employee.
Compounding the problem are people like former Hudson Police Chief Dick Trende. Trende retired from the Hudson Police Department several years ago drawing what I am sure to be a generous pension. He then takes another job as security head for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
So now he dips out of the taxpayer’s left pocket for a pension and dips out of the right pocket for his position at the college. No doubt when he retires from his employment at the college, he will dip into our back pocket for another pension. This is obscene!
Remember, if you can’t retire. then be sure to thank a government employee.
