It’s Official – No Referendum

By

I received a phone call this evening during the event that took place at the Hudson School Board Meeting from the auditorium and it was mystifying. It seems as though there really was no need for a High School or New Elementary School after all. After $100,000, free meals, possible illegal presentations and many letters to the editor, !?It’s Official?!

At exactly 8:09 pm on July 12th, according to the caller, the school board, voiced from Nancy Donovan, told the audience that the School Board has decided not to go to referendum.

This poses a few interesting questions:

10 Didn’t they need the space?
9 Wasn’t the Task Force right on target?
8 Didn’t the school board approve the recommendations of the Task Force?
7 Is the board playing politics with our children?
6 I thought the High School East wing is uninhabitable?
5 Don’t we need new schools for a quality education?
4 Why did they need a new school 2 years ago but not now?
3 What happened to the 250 seats at 4th Street Elementary?
2 Doesn’t Steve Keller need work?
1 What are the Kindergarten Round-up numbers and why is it a secret?

To show how much the administration and school board exaggerate any space problems that we might have please read the following quote- “By my estimation, this (lack of classroom space) could be disastrous next year,” Lanning said. This was High School principal Beth Lanning in MARCH of 2001! Need I say more?

GreenForGovernor Its Official

It’s official, as of this afternoon Congressman Mark Green is running for Governor. “Ours will be a campaign of ideas with a focus on our future. We’ll start with the simple premise that we shouldn’t settle for anything less than greatness,” Green said at a news conference held at the National Railroad Museum in Ashwaubenon. “There is a path to greatness, and I believe we know the way.”

“Under Governor Doyle, taxes are up, spending is up, borrowing is up, debt is up, tuition is up, fees are up, and hope, well that seems to be on the way down,” Green said. “Our state deserves better. We can make Wisconsin great again.”
