More on Definition of a Liberal

There have been a few recent posts and comments here on defining what liberal is.

Below is more example rather than definition.

” Andy Lieffort , a former New Richmond School Board member and current candidate for School Board said the following at this past week – Long Range Planning Commission – “We can not recommend what may be saleable to the community. We have to go forward with what we think is needed.”
” Lieffort is an employee of the State of Minnesota Department of Corrections at which he is a union organizer for his fellow employees.
” He was the lead strategist in the School District – April 2005 $54 million failed referendum. The key element of which was not to give voters an option or menu of choices ” just all or nothing.
” While serving on the School Board in 2004-2005, Lieffort was a vocal advocate for raising the property tax of New Richmond residents.
” As a candidate for the School Board in 2006, Lieffort continues to strongly campaign to raise property taxes on all New Richmond residents.
” Lieffort supported former New Richmond School District Superintendent Craig Hitchens” efforts in the failed referendum for which he was eventually awarded a $25,000 bonus by a majority on the School Board. Hitchen – efforts included keeping secret a letter he received from the WI DOT stating the chosen land parcel for the proposed new High school was incompatible for building schools.
” At a fall community meeting on School District issues, Lieffort commented that the New Richmond News provides too much information to local residents. He further elaborated this is not always a good thing as people can become confused.
” Lieffort received the least amount of votes for reelection to the Board out of 6 candidates once voters learned more about him.
” Lieffort believes he know better how to spend your money than you do.
