By“At this point we’re doing the things that I would say are common sense,” board president Lester Jones said.

Which is Jones referring to:
A. The School Board – vote to give a $108,000 buy out and $25,000 bonus to former Superintendent Craig Hitchens?
B. Announcing to the press the hiring of Mike Williams, the Interim Superintendent, at $500 day, then adding a new clause for an additional $250 for evening responsibilities, making his total per day charges to the District of $750?
C. Giving Mike Williams 7 Personal Time Off Days at $500 per day in addition to the 3 weeks of vacation he took in February?
D. Hiring a psycho-therapist for Board consultations at $300 per hour?
E. Eliminating a gifted and talented teaching position to pay ATS&R more than $60,000 for unnecessary architectural fees?
F. Repeatedly violating the open-meeting laws and regulations and conducting inappropriate business in closed-door executive session?
G. Allowing a fellow Board member, Chris Skogland, to repeatedly vote on District expenditures that were going to her husband – firm.
H. Conducting an expert study and professional evaluation of possible health concerns at West Elementary School?
The correct answer is H.
Too bad common sense wasn”t applied for items A through G and the numerous other bizarre decisions made by the New Richmond School Board.
