New Richmond Still In Turmoil

By

From the New Richmond School Board meeting on 10-26, several things came to light. One thing was that the School Board admitted they are cutting teaching positions in order to pay for the AST&R bill of $50,000. Come to find out, after the board was posed with tough questions from board member Bill Brennan as to how much more AST&R was going to cost, we all heard that, yes, it is more than $50,000. For what???

Bill Brennan has expressed in his statement that he was extremely disappointed that the board had budgeted $50,000 for referendum planning and during his statement, he referred to the cutting of a gifted and talented teacher and a high school aid as the illustration of this district – backward step in priority. To Bill – dismay, Board President Lester Jones uttered the statement: “well, we”re doing it for the kids. Mr. Brennan responds: “does this mean that we will take care of kids later??”

Yes, but I heard the mill rate went down in New Richmond this year!! By the way, it’s funny that I never once saw the word “kids” used in the emails back and forth from Lester Jones to ATS&R.

In addition to this revelation, let – review the activities of “it – for the kids Klan”:

Bob Muchlinski, spouse of Hudson High School art teacher, doing what he does best by writing slanderous letters to the editor. The latest edition of his character assassination appearing in last week – New Richmond paper.

The revelation of emails between ATS&R and the New Richmond School Board president on how best to manipulate a so-called information session.

The Sommerset School District making an offer to purchase land which voters had turned down by large margins in two different referendums.

The disclosure of malfeasance by the New Richmond superintendent which included allegations of bid rigging and outright lying over land usability. .

The denial of first amendment rights by the Hudson School Board to citizens who were invited to the microphone to speak. The board not only continually interrupted speakers but resorted to calling armed police who threatened citizens with bodily harm.

The above activity was precluded by a call from citizens to investigate the expense reporting of former Hudson superintendent Ron Bernth who was caught, through information gathered by a private citizen, submitting a fraudulent expense report for a golf outing,

The gang mentality of school board members and their supporters who last spring surrounded and verbally assaulted a citizen taking photographs of possible illegal campaign activities on school property.

The stacking of a so-called citizen task force in Hudson which coincidentally had hired ATS&R as its consultant.

The violation of open meeting laws and request for open records by the school districts in the area.

A phony threat letter splattered on the front page of the Hudson paper which was meant to impugn the reputations of those asking for accountability from local school officials.

It should become quite clear to area citizens that this government education system, bluntly speaking, is corrupt. It uses our children as pawns to confiscate more of our money and to usurp our rights. It is not about the kids or their education; it is all about them. It is simply time to say NO!

Show me a government entity that is neither corrupt nor stacked with incompetents and we will both be looking at one which all odds suggest shortly shall be..

In April of 2004, School Board Members Chris Skoglund, Greg Demulling and Deanna Cook Shannon, voted to extend Craig Hitchens contract by an extra 12 months to expire June 30, 2006. This morning, he excepts their offer to quit today. However, he will continue to be paid the full balance of his contract through June 30, 2006. this adds up to almost $100,000 between today and June 30. Why did they extend his contract, then pay him off to leave early? Did he do such a stellar job? Can they name one accomplishment? Since they are so impressed with him, does this mean they will name the portable classrooms after him? The “Dr. Craig Hitchens Wing at East Elemenatry School”?

You must remember that it’s for the children. These administrators and teachers would never do anything to feather their own nest. They are stictly in it for the children.
