Watch Lester Jones, Chris Skogland, et al, defend this.
I can hear them now………
“It is not a bonus”
“We had no other options”
“But, he was such a nice guy”
“The lawyers told us we had too”
“If only we could have kept this secret”
“Why do people get so mad about how we spend their money?”
“I hope Jeff Holmquist & Karl Puckett don’t print this in the New Richmond News”
You are so right by naming it the new aristocracy or perhaps as Dr. D would say “the looting class”. Irregardless, it is the same double-shuffle scam everywhere whether it is Hudson, New Richmond, Sommerset, or River Falls. Unscrupulous activity is rewarded with early retirement and big benefits. No wonder school administrators are called “doctors”; they are Doctors of Fleeceology”. The key to their success is a school board whose majority has the total lack of ability to think, .obey laws, or even follow the wishes of the voters.
I would be remiss if I didn”t address the letters in this week – edition of the New Richmond paper. Christine Hendricks wants to blame everyone for New Richmond – problems and even impeach persons who are not elected officials. I would like to know how that works Christine; do you load people, whose views you do not agree with, on a railcar and ship them to places where they will never be heard from again? You really believe schools are financed totally from property taxes? If you do, then you are the one who needs to do some research. If school district funding is 100% from local property taxes; then tell me why the Governor did a slight of hand to the tune of 450 million dollars, to divert state funds to public education. Also why is half of all school budgets comprised of state aid? Your property taxes would increase by more than 50% if your statement was true. It appears you let your emotions get in the way of logical thought
One last thought, the troubles you are concerned with are not caused by not having the right people on the board or a superintendent. No, it is caused by the system itself. As I said, these problems are not local or due to individual negligence. This is as good as the current system of government education can get. Even the great liberal voice of Rosie “O Donnell was distressed about the state of education in this country in an interview the other night on CNN. Noting how far our students have fallen behind the rest of the world and our low graduation rates. Guess what, it is a failure and throwing more money will not change a thing.
All I can say to Jon Grabanski, who defended Sommerset – land grab; the vote of the people said “no” twice. What is so difficult to understand?
tc, Christine Hendricks is a CPA besides! I wouldn’t want to be her client.
That $25,000 for unanticipated and extra work on the failed 2005 referendum amounts to 454 hrs. at his salary of $55/hr. You have to hand it to Craig Hitchens, he’s a great negotitator. Or he is an average negotiator and the school board is in over its head which is my evaluation.
Any of you ever work without a clause in your job description that didn’t include, “…and all other work assigned…” Its boilplate in all job descriptions I’ve ever seen.
These same Einstein – who hired Hitchens are fast moving to hire his replacement. Greg Demulling, Deanna Cook-Shannon and Chris Skoglund. Watch how they manipulate this process.
Lester Jones will be following their lead on this and do as he is told as he always does.
These thieves initially hired Hitchens, then 5 months before his initial contract expired, they extended it for another 12 months. 5 months into the extension, Hitchen – announces his “retirement”. Interesting timing considering the investigation for his malfeasance and dereliction of duty. As a going away gift, Demulling, Cook-Shannon, Skoglund and Jones increase Hitchens pay and give him the $25,000 bonus.
They now want us to believe they can responsibly manage a school building referendum that will cost significantly more than the failed $54 million project. They have admitted the next referendum will be more, because they will need to add a new elementary school in now too.
Cook-Shannon and Demulling also want us to re-elect them in April as well.
Time the recall to coincide with the referendum vote. You”ll get to vote NO at the same time vote some new accountable blood in.
