Our View
ByIt has come to the attention of the editorial staff at ontheboderline.net that former Hudson police chief Dick Trende is somehow taking issue with comments made on this blog about his job performance. We would like to take this opportunity to address Mr. Trende’s job performance, in particular his performance as it relates to the Devin Willi threat letter.
Approximately one year ago the Hudson Star Observer ran a front page article detailing the contents of a supposed threat letter to Hudson city administrator Devin Willi. This letter contained veiled threats against Mr. Willi and his family. It was clear to even the most intellectually deficient readers that this letter was a hoax and was meant to impugn the reputations of certain individuals in the community who disagree with the direction of the Hudson school district and the teachers union. It is our opinion that Mr. Trende didn’t take this letter seriously either. Why do we say this?
After one year, not one individual close to this case has been questioned. Certainly Mr. Trende didn’t have to look far to find individuals who despise local taxpayers who ask hard questions of school district administrators and board members. All Mr. Trende would have to do is read the HSO letters to find a few suspects. Mr. Trende is also a frequent contributor to a socialist blog whose administrator would fall into the category of wanting to impugn certain taxpayer advocates. Also, there was a blog recently started by the spouse of an art teacher at the high school which was designed specifically to defame and harass these same taxpayer advocates. This blog has since been removed from the worldwide web, but the original contents have been saved and printed out. Some of these same suspects know the Willi family socially as well.
Yet here we are one year later and not one peep from the Hudson Police Department. We understand that Mr. Trende’s official line with regards to the investigation is that we “sent the material to Madison”. How convenient. It appears that it was o.k. for Mr. Trende to “investigate” his own department when innocent citizens were removed from an open meeting with no cause, yet he wanted nothing to do with being responsible for the investigation of a supposed threat letter to the city administrator.
In our opinion, the only word needed to describe Mr. Trende’s job performance as the Police Chief of Hudson can only be percieved as INCOMPETENCE.
Of course if Mr. Trende disagrees with this assessment he is more than able to comment right here and right now. We seriously doubt he has the guts to do so. We also seriously doubt that the editor of the local FISH WRAP will have the guts to question why there has been no serious effort on the part of the Hudson Police Department to find the individual(s) responsible for this hoax.

It is refreshing to see such a collaborated effort for such a posting. I would like to suggest the following to the ex Chief Trende’s list of what he could have done:
He could have had his two departments inside investigators pin it on a dead guy and then had his friends in the DA’s office take it to trial with his favorite judge and had a John Doe hearing with a 10 out of 10 evidence brought forward. That could have quieted things down a bit.
