Quote of the Day

“If these changes were announced during good economic times it would have raised a few eyebrows, but not unleashed the wrath of many people who are strong supporters of our schools.”

Doug Stohlberg, Editor of the Hudson Star Obfuscator

This comment was part of this editorial by Mr. Stohlberg. Gee Doug, whose eyebrows would have been raised during “good economic” times? Would it be the eyebrows of concerned citizens who have seen this trainwreck coming for a number of years? Get with the program Doug. Your half-hearted attempt at holding the school board, administrators and teachers accountable is laughable at best.

I have not read the editorial, perhaps I will.. However, if Mr. Stohlberg is turning a jaundiced eye towards what many view as, plainly, profligate spending by the government school monopoly then all the better.. and I say better late than never.

It is difficult to pin point what, exactly, triggers a negative action-reaction towards government schools and their outrageous spending proclivities.. At the end of the day, it really needs to manifest in questioning the whole premise of both compulsory schooling laws coupled with the lack of economic educational choice.

Mr. Stohlberg can raise an eyebrow if he likes, but if he were truly interested in a moral stance he would get to the heart of the matter. Something tells me his editorial does not do this..
