I tһіחk tһе NEA іѕ one οf tһе mοѕt reprehensible organizations within tһе law. (Tһеrе аrе ѕοmе illegal organizations tһаt аrе worse іח tһе United States). Albert obviously had not the opportunity to visit the borderline… He would have been stunned to see that, in fact, many here have the intellectual and rhetorial savoir faire to display an unyeilding equanimity to the statist status quo…

  1. donttreadonme says:

“I have no purpose to introduce political and social equality between the white and black races.” Abe Lincoln, August, 1858…..
    .
The whole nation is interested that the best use shall be made of these [new] territories. We want them for the homes of free white people.” Abe Lincoln, October 16, 1854.
    .

Fascinating quotes from the great emacipator who was, in reality, the great centralizer and destroyer of states rights..

  2. Ruthless says:

Every time I hear the name Abe Lincoln I want to fly my confederate flag.

  3. kilowatt says:

You guys can quote Jefferson, Von Mises, Rand, Lincoln and the likes all you want. However, I believe its better to make your own quotes and to follow those.

As one goes though life you learn two things:
Never let your bull get hit in the rump when you’re holding it by the horns, and even though you hold a chicken by the beak, it doesn’t mean the chicken can’t cluck and lay eggs!

  4. bildanielson says:

kilowatt, where the cluck have you been? We’ve missed your poultry logic!

  5. Ruthless says:

Now every time I hear the name dratsum I want to fly my confederate flag.

  6. dratsum says:

My Dear Ruthless: Your words remind me of what Jesus has said and others…

    Red Cloud:
“Look at me–I am poor and naked, but I am the chief of the nation. We do not want riches, but we do want to train our children right…. We do not want riches. We want peace and love.”

    Jesse Jackson:
“Our flag is red, white and blue, but our nation is a rainbow-red, yellow, brown, black and white-and we’re all precious in God’s sight.”

  7. Ruthless says:

    Mr Dear Dratsum,
Everything seems to be fine and dandy in your euphoric world as long as everyone agrees with YOU. And by the way, with all of your quotes and witty sayings you remind me a lot of a husband of a 5th grade teacher at Willow River.
    Love,
    Ruthless

  8. dratsum says:

Oh Ruthless, where do you get the idea that my world is euphoric? I doubt there is anything I’ve submitted to this blog site indicating that I believe the world is any kind of euphoric place. The goal — from my perspective — is to make the world a better place for everybody PERIOD. Where did you get this “as long as everybody agrees with” ME business. I’ve worked hard to find out what this blog site is all about. You must be a new name on this site (unless your one of the regulars with three or four blog names), because you obviously haven’t paid attention to what I’ve been saying. That I don’t agree with everything here is obvious. That I don’t agree with anything is a wrong conclusion. That I need to be convinced with facts and intelligent discussion is just my nature — I would hope it would be your path also.
Finally, thanks for the compliment on your insightful observation on my highly desirable wit and strategic inclusion of relevant quotes.
Finally, that I remind you of some 5th grade teacher’s husband — I hope you don’t have a crush on him — makes the flame of my illuminating ego burn even brighter. It reminds me of an old proverb:

    Great Minds Think Alike
    Little Things Please Little Minds
Great Minds Think Alike, Simple Minds Cant Think Of Anything Different

  9. dratsum says:

    Quotes with mustard:

    Barry Goldwater:
To disagree, one doesn’t have to be disagreeable.

    Ronald Reagan:
    Facts are stubborn things.

    Ronald Reagan:
    Trust, but verify.

    Ayn Rand:
Reason is not automatic. Those who deny it cannot be conquered by it. Do not count on them. Leave them alone.

  10. spiritofpublicus says:

“Facts are stubborn things” is a quote by John Adams not Ronald Reagan

“Those wһο rail against profits аחԁ “greed” seldom ѕtοр tο tһіחk through wһаt tһеу аrе saying, much less ɡο check tһе facts. Mοѕt οf tһе ɡrеаt American fortunes– Rockefeller, Ford, Carnegie, etc. — came frοm finding more efficient ways tο produce a product οr service аt a lower cost, ѕο tһаt іt сουƖԁ bе sold аt a lower price аחԁ attract more customers. If mаkіחɡ a fortune represents greed, tһеח greed іѕ wһаt drives prices down.” Thomas Sowell
