Son of school board problems
ByThe New Richmond School Board’s $6150 worth of advise from Dr. Sarah, Ph.D.,L.P., LLC boiled down to no action. That’s what happened after the closed door July 21st meeting. More action might happen at the regular Aug 15th meeting.
There were; however, some comments from board big-wigs in an article in the New Richmond News of July 28th regarding the July 21st meeting. Lester Jones, board president, said that members agreed to not use inflammatory or judgmental language.
Sounds like typical eduspeak to me. I am somewhat mystified by the inflammatory language restriction. What the hell (excuse me) are board memembers doing swearing at each other? And as far as being judgmental, what’s wrong with questioning or disagreeing with one another on issues.
But here’s the hooker: Jones said that board members must trust information provided by a board committee or administrators. So a committee presents questionable information and the rest are supposed to agree? Sounds like the school board is setting itself up for hold-hands and humm sessions.
What this is all working up to is a fall building referendum. Jones feels the board should have a unified front before it goes before the public. I agree, but everything should be thrashed out, including the shouting and gnashing of teeth, as well as some inflammatory language and maybe even some judgmental–heaven forbid–statements.

Can’t you all just get along up there Ziller? After all, it’s just money!
Ahhh, Luke? That would be the citizens’ money…aka coerced expropriation of ones hard earned capital with the threat of conversion lest you bend over and “let the donkey ride…” By the way, that donkey’s name was Sally. That’s right, a male donkey named Sally. They do that over in Scotland, you know… Eye, err, ooooh.
