Republican Logic

Posted by: | Comments (1)

On Friday the Republican controlled House of Representatives voted and rejected a resolution that would have given Obama the authority to deploy US troops in Libya. This comes after the Speaker of the House cried illegality over the operations in Libya and that the President had acted contrary to the Constitution.

In a vote taken immediately after the authorization vote, the House of Representatives voted to reject another resolution that would defund the Libyan operation.

So your against the military action, but vote to keep funding it. This is the same logic the Boehner led House used when Republicans postured against Obamacare, but still continues to fund it in the budget.

And you really think this clan is going to hold fast their opposition to raising the debt ceiling.

St. Croix County Transvestite

Posted by: | Comments (0)

One thing I can’t quite figure is how you can support a position of smaller government, but you don’t want to cut the number of non-worker, worker government employees. The Walker budget is based on the notion of cutting the budget without giving a number of non-worker, workers the heave-ho. If you cut government without axing employees then it would mean the non-worker, workers would do even less non-working, work.

The St. Croix County Board under the leadership of self-proclaimed conservative Daryl Standefur continues to hire government non-worker, workers despite a soft hiring freeze, which means it does not exist. The latest non-hiring freeze of non-worker, workers happened this week when the Board approved the hiring of a County Administrator. I didn’t even know we were missing one!

It appears we have not had a non-worker, worker County Administrator or manager for the last six or seven months. It is hard to tell you are missing something when you don’t miss it in the first place. It’s like missing the warm touch of a hot girl that you no chance of getting within 5 yards of anyway.

Now I wonder what this new administrator is going to do for me that I didn’t miss in the first place and why the taxpayers need to pay for his salary. Word has it that he is responsible for creating budgets and seeing that the other government non-worker, worker department heads stay within financial limits. That sounds like a pimp trying to make sure the whores look respectable.

The only people going to benefit from the hire of the non-missed, non-worker, worker County Administrator is Daryl Standefur and the nursing home residents that sit on the County Board. Is it not the responsibility of an elected Board to devise a budget and to make sure the non-worker, workers stay within its limits? Read More→

A Double Scoop and A Driver License

Posted by: | Comments (0)

malt A Double Scoop and A Driver LicenseOne of my first jobs as a teenager was scooping sweet treats at a family owned ice cream shop. On warm summer nights customers packed the establishment every night of the week. As people entered the shop they pulled a number and waited for their turn to order. The employees behind the counter, including me, were able to make a variety of ice cream concoctions that included cones, milkshakes, malts, and sundaes.

The thought of the little ice cream shop crossed my mind when I took my daughter to renew her driver’s license at the DMV. Upon entering the building, an electronic sign informed the individual that the wait time was ten minutes. A line formed behind a sign about twenty feet from the counter where three government non-worker, workers waited at their assigned windows.

After a few minutes of observation, the non-worker, worker at window number 1 called the first person in line to her window in order to ascertain the request and to receive a number. The individual then returns to the waiting area where eventually their number was called and they were directed to one of the two other windows.

Only government could design a system that forces people to wait ten minutes in line so a non-worker, worker can hand out a number to wait in line again. Not only do we see a professional number hand outer, but the non-worker, workers at the other two windows serve a single function. The ability to multi-task is apparently not a requirement for government non-work, work.

If the state wants to pare its budget, then it can start by turning over the responsibilities of the DMV to an ice cream shop. I would like a chocolate mint shake and a renewal of my driver license, please.

Dear Madison

Posted by: | Comments (0)

4d6ff94e6a4ff.image1 300x189 Dear MadisonI saw something that Indiana pass that would have solved all the troubles going on in our Madison statehouse.

Let’s implement it.

Senate Republicans on Wednesday let Democrats know the true price of the walkout that shut down the House for five weeks this session: a proposed “anti-bolting” law that would bar minority party lawmakers from leaving in order to keep the majority party from doing business.

The provision sparked an hour of emotional debate — and a boycott by the 13 Democratic senators as their Republican colleagues voted 36-0 to add it to the budget.

What is Your Plan?

Posted by: | Comments (2)

After casting my vote at the County Building, I approached a young man standing outside collecting signatures for the recall of State Senator Shelia Harsdorf. Since this person and his kind are against the actions taken by the Senator and her Republican colleagues for eliminating the state’s financial mess, then he as a representative of the other side in the battle (not a term used loosely) must have a plan to restore fiscal sanity.

“So what is your plan for eliminating the state’s debt and unfunded pension liabilities,” I queried.

His reply came as no surprise. We don’t need to balance the budget by raising taxes on the middle class, cutting education, and eliminating programs for the needy.

“First of all what tax increases are found in the Budget Repair Bill”, I asked. “Are you telling me that making state non-worker, workers (great description of them towncrier) pay for a portion of their benefits is akin to a tax increase.”

He started to answer my question, but I cut him off when he started down the road of saying yes.

“So again what plan does your side have for dealing with the debt?” I continued to press the question.

He continued talking about raising taxes and having people pay their fair share, but admittedly the plan still needs some work.

“Taxing people and doing nothing about spending, how has that worked out for states like Illinois and California?” I said shaking my head. “In other words, you guys have no plan except to continue down the same path to ruin.” Read More→

Ask Why Not

Posted by: | Comments (0)

License+Plate ASK+Y+NOT+Wis1 300x153 Ask Why NotYou know those little things that say OCT or NOV and a 09, 10 on your back license plate? They are indicators that tell if your license plate has expired. Gov. Scott Walker’s budget calls for the elimination of the stickers. It will save the state $800,000 over 2 years.

Why Not?

Lord knows the electronic communications and computers found in most police vehicles can pull up the plate quickly. Additionally, the sticker is not even on the front. This is simply a case of probable cause. Police should not be out searching to see if stickers are current. They should be doing other duties required.

*Hint – You may want to invest in the bakery that supplies doughnuts to Freedom gas station chain.

See Wis. gov’s budget would end registration stickers

Barb Van Looney 150x150 Hudson School Board Adopts 4 Corners OffenseIn a cowardly fashion the Hudson School Board has gone into a stall tactic with regards to the contract extension proposal from the teachers. In an attempt to ride the fence and not have to make a tough decision, Barb Van Looney and company have decided to let the clock run out instead of just saying no. The 4 Corners Offense was made famous by Dean Smith of North Carolina and so irritated the other teams in the ACC that they instituted a shot clock which is still in effect. The board is just hoping that the Budget Repair Bill becomes law before they actually have to take a vote. This is a feeble attempt to save face with their cronies in the union and administration. What a bunch of worthless trash….

Sergeant Dale Schultz1 240x300 State Senate Passes Budget Repair Bill!

The Wisconsin State Senate just passed a stripped down version of the Budget Repair Bill! They took all of the financial language out of the bill but left in the collective bargaining reform. The bill passed by an 18-1 margin. The only dissenting vote? You guessed it- Sergeant Dale Schultz the Traitor. Word has it that the 14 AWOL senators heard about what was going to take place and were racing back to Madison to participate in the vote, but they couldn’t make it in time! LOSERS!

Dale Schultz4 150x150 Sergeant Dale Schultz reporting for duty

Sergeant Dale Schultz helped to dig the escape route for the 14 missing state senators by being a flip flopping Richland Center RINO, giving them their only chance they had to work a “compromise” which will negate any and all of necessary changes made by the budget repair bill. But watch what happens to Sergeant Dale Schultz as he reports for duty…..

Sergeant Dale Schultz Mum on Intentions

Sergeant Dale Schultz (RINO loser from Richland Center) is holding his cards close to his vest. He’s not letting us know how he will vote on the Budget Repair Bill. We all know Sergeant Dale Schultz as the moderate who is married to a school superintendent. He has NO conviction and NO courage. He is a lifelong government employee, just like his wife. He is one of THEM, not one of us. He reminds me of Sergeant Schultz from Hogans Heroes. Watch how this poker game plays out…..

Beware the Hypocrits

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Scott Walker has described the budget repair bill as politically bold, but modest in its provisions. Well, that may be. However bold this bill is, it is rife with hypocrisy. For Walker and company to NOT include firefighters and law enforcement is wrong. Moreover, it looks really bad as both groups were supporters of Walker last November…

Look folks, either collective bargaining is wrong in the government sector or it isn’t. You can’t pick and choose like this and have any moral credibility, or expect people to see you as fully fair minded and rational. This is once again why I will never call myself a Republican or a Conservative.

If this legislation goes through, it will mark a very short term for both Walker AND many Republicans in Wisconsin. Walker has not to date fully informed the citizens of Wisconsin why collective bargaining within the realm of government workers is immoral. Why? Frankly, I don’t think he has the guts. I remain unconvinced that he has the intellectual capacity to articulate the full argument, one would hope he does but his silence on this is telling.

Wisconsin Budget Repair Bill

Posted by: | Comments (0)

The Wisconsin Senate is expected to begin deliberations at 11 a.m. on the controversial budget repair bill.

Demonstrators opposed to the bill began gathering early Thursday in front of the Senate chambers where lawmakers will take up Republican Gov. Scott Walker’s bill to end collective bargaining, except on issues of salary, for most public employees.

The bill will first be debated in the Senate, then move to the Assembly some time this afternoon.

Watch it live starting in a few minutes.

So it appears that the Dems didn’t show up. Not sure what’s going to happen. It may come down to if the Democrats don’t want to participate, the Governor might be able to have the contents of the bill become an Executive Order. Not sure how it works in Wisconsin. Anyone dare to speculate?
