Teachers’ insurance targeted for budget
ByThe Wisconsin Policy Research Institute issued a report estimating that more than $100 million a year could be saved across Wisconsin if teachers chose from the same options in health insurance offered to state employees.
But Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle said Monday he would veto such legislation…
My Take:Seems we have a weak kneed Governer who worships at the feet of WEAC! Check it out!

In Hudson, they simply pick the Cadillac plan with not even a thought of bidding for quotes by the Health plans. They have ZERO dollars out of pocket.
New Richmond School District spends 70% of its budget on wages and benefits. The teacher’s contract locks in health insurance with the words that allow a change in health insurance “provided it is equivalent.” There are no two health plans that are equivalent. Any changes will have to come from a mandate from the state–at least for New Richmond.
Doyle line-item vetoed early retirement costs in the QEO calculations. This cost our district a bundle. He would have vetoed QEO calculations if he could.
Doyle has to be voted out of office.
