The Rights of The Parent

By

“A proper legal system protects and defends a parent’s moral right to pursue the personal rewards and joy of child-raising. At every stage, you the parent, have a right to set your own standards and act on them without government permission. This parental right to control your child’s upbringing includes the right to manage his or her education by choosing an appropriate school or personally educating him or her at home.

Of course, there are certain situations when government must step in, but only to protect the rights of a child – such as cases of physical abuse or neglect. But no concern for individual rights can account for California’s assertion of state control over the minds of all school-aged children residing within its borders.”

A good article over at townhall.com by Mike Gallagher on this subject. Notice at the end of the article who saw children as a powerful political tool.

This is probably one of the most important messages delivered on education out here in a long long time.. Moreover, it is utterly consistent with what just happened down in Georgia.

Of course, this message must be taken with a grain of salt as, after all, it was spewed by a card carrying member of the Ayn Rand Institute… and we all know that her atheism and so-called misogyny, which has clearly infected the mind of Thomas Bowden, disqualify her ilk as closed-minded, not to be trused, immoral and otherwise repugnant…

    Let the cognitive dissonance commence!
