What is Andy trying to say?

By

As I read the article about the School Board Candidates, I’m having a interesting time trying to read it.

He Quotes:
” He is running for School Board because for too many years we’ve stood by and not addressed the education needs of the community.”
Also stated:
” The school board, he said, has been dysfunctional for too long. Lieffort thinks that his experience in negotiations could help move the board forward.”

What? ….Wasn’t he already on the board, why was it not solved then? And if he is an expert in negotiations why did the board continue to be dysfunctional while he was on the board? We don’t need negotiators, we need people who already can work as a team; not try to sway & convince them to think they have to follow the herd.

Then he states that the community needs a new high school & the district needs to especially focus on a new high school also that the high school is a centerpiece of your educational program.

What?… What about grades K through 8? All of your base-line learning is done at those grades, without them high school can’t be completed. There are no centerpieces in the educational program; they are called stepping stones in your life! What’s wrong with building a new Middle School; It would be cheaper to go that route, but then again Andy has “pretty good vision”.

And my all time favorite quote from Andy is:
“He also said he has a pretty good vision of where the community and district should look at channeling its dollars.”

What?….Is this the word according to Andy? Is he going to convice the board where he wants the money spent?
The new high school could be called LIEfort High; it’s kind of catchy.

So much for the Team effort.

There is no question that Andy Liefort is not the right person to put on the school board. He was on there once, and without a doubt, contributed to many bad decisions the board made at the time he was voted in, including throwing away many taxpayer dollars. It’s one thing to read things here, but when you check the board minutes from any board meeting that Andy had a vote in, you find that all is true. He has an agenda that is definitely not in the taxpayer’s best interests.

Now, I would like to know more about Deanna Cook Shannon–what did she do that was in the taxpayer’s best interests while serving on the board? Wasn’t it her friend, the therapist that she helped get hired and then managed to get her $9800.00 of taxpayer money for couch time? Wasn’t it Cook-Shannon who spent the most time on the couch? Now, I do know that the board did approve to spend $3000.00 or thereabouts on a psyco-therapist, but as soon as Cook-Shannon saw that road paved, she laid on that couch for 7 hours? Her being the accountant, how could she knowingly go over-budget on that one item? What other wild spending did she contribute to? What other bad decisions did she contribute to? Please tell so that we can make an informed vote.

Oh yes, that’s what we need, a public employee’s union negotiator on the school board. Maybe he could get back the 10-year early-early retirement that would have bankrupted the district.

Lieffort’s right about one thing: the board is dysfunctional, but that observation is not enough to get him elected to the school board.

We need the Bill, Rick, and Bob show.
