“Wide-Mouth Wyeth” Extravanganza!

By

Wow! I just finished watching the school board discuss the enormous slush fund that they have accumulated at the taxpayers expense and boy did the sh…. get deep at that meeting! I apologize for presenting another “Wide-Mouth” Wyeth award so soon, but I just couldn’t control myself after watching that meeting.

Many of you from the Hudson School District realize that our school board has been overtaxing us on a regular basis and have created a slush fund of approximately $16 Million. Of course it should be close to $17 Million but they stole $778,000 this past year to start saving for the health care expenses of the early retirees. Isn’t that nice? They don’t have to steal this year’s deposit for the health care slush fund, they just budgeted for it.

I was flabbergasted by the remarks that board members made after Arnie “I CANT FIND THE $4.5 MILLION” Fett gave his little dog and pony show about how we need all of this money for “cash flow” purposes and a good “bond” rating. Are you looking to borrow some money Arnie? Boy for a guy that’s deathly afraid of having to borrow on a short term basis, he sure is concerned about our long term borrowing rates. Been out to dinner with the bond salesman lately Arnie?

So here we go. Arnie has made his presentation and the gratuitous backslapping goes into full swing. I’m sorry I didn’t catch everything, but I did the best I could. There were so many stupid remarks being made that I was getting writer’s cramp.

“Wide-Mouth” Wyeth Award Winners-

“I want to thank Mr. Fett for shining the light on what a fund balance really is.” Mark “The Terrorist” Kaissersatt (Is this the same Arnie Fett who never spoke a word about this balance during the last referendum? Or is this the same Arnie Fett who has been using the same auditing firm for 24 years? The same firm from which he came to the district in 1989.)

“I think it’s a wise idea to set aside $6 Million for capital projects.” Mark “The Terrorist” Kaissersatt (It’s a lot easier to steal the money than to ask for it in a referendum isn’t it Mark? How about you give us OUR MONEY back and then when you think you need it, ask us?)

“We’re a business, just like any other business in town.” Dan “15 years on the board is too much” Tjernahoj (I guess if I’d spent that long on the board and my wife was a professor, then I’d start thinking that the government was business too. You’re the only business I know that has the ability to confiscate someone’s home if they don’t write you a check. Nice try Dan.)

“None of this is easy, it’s really quite complicated.” Priscilla “Wide-Mouth” Wyeth (You knew she had to win sometime.)

“I salute the finance committee for the work they have done.” Priscilla “Wide-Mouth” Wyeth (Excuse me while I throw up.)

“This fund balance is a good situation. This has been brought about by the prudent, fiscally conservative practices of previous school boards.” Dick “I’m for the kids” Muenich (And all this time I just thought I was being overtaxed. Thanks for clearing that up Dick.)

There you have it folks. I missed a few, but I was writing as fast as I could.

The meetings could easily be cut in half if it were not for all the gratuitous back slapping. I think Prissy even slapped her own back when said that the policy deletions were “excellent deletions”!

And they were Excellent deletions. An even better deletion would be wide-mouth wyeth herself! That is a hypen!
